1. Information We Collect

BirthREM collects only the information necessary to provide birthday reminders:

  • Names of your contacts or loved ones
  • Birthday dates you add
  • Optional notes, photos, or relationship details you provide
  • App preferences (language, theme, notification settings)
🔒 All data is stored locally on your device. We do not access your phone contacts unless you explicitly grant permission to import them.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to:

  • Send you timely birthday reminders and notifications
  • Display your saved birthdays inside the app
  • Improve app performance and user experience
❌ BirthREM does NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or any third parties.

3. Data Storage

All your birthday data is stored locally on your device only. Nothing is sent to external servers or the cloud.

You are in full control of your data at all times. You can delete any or all of your data directly from within the app settings.

📌 Note: Cloud backup and account sync features may be introduced in a future update. If added, this policy will be updated accordingly, and you will be notified before any data leaves your device.

4. Notifications & Permissions

BirthREM requests the following permissions:

  • 📱 Notifications: To remind you about upcoming birthdays
  • 💾 Storage: To save profile pictures or backup your birthday list locally
  • 👥 Contacts (optional): Only if you choose to import birthdays from your phone contacts

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device settings.

5. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, your information is protected by your device's own security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.).

We recommend keeping your device updated and secured to ensure the safety of your data. BirthREM does not transmit your personal data over the internet.

6. Third-Party Services

Currently, BirthREM does not use any third-party cloud services, authentication providers, or analytics tools that collect your personal data.

In future versions, trusted third-party services may be introduced (such as cloud sync or crash reporting). Any such additions will be clearly communicated, and this policy will be updated before they are enabled.

7. Your Rights

You have full control over your data. You can:

  • ✓ View, edit, or delete any birthday entry at any time
  • ✓ Clear all app data from your device settings
  • ✓ Disable notifications at any time
⚠️ Important: Since all data is stored locally, deleting the app or clearing app data will permanently remove all your information.

8. Children's Privacy

BirthREM is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Since all data is stored locally on the device, no personal information is transmitted to us. If you have concerns, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new features or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted within the app, and the "Last updated" date will be revised.

Continued use of BirthREM after updates means you accept the revised policy. We will always notify you before any significant changes — especially if cloud or account features are introduced.
